Last classes of December

As I had promised, here is the contact number for the Turkish Butcher near Kalvin Ter.  Tel: 06-1-266-99-00.  You need to order 2-3 days before picking it up.

Also, keep in mind that salmon filets are very cheap (half the price of piac!!!) at Auchan 'til 23rd so take advantage of that. :)

Some few tips from the last class - lamb worked better when it was broiled for 5-7 minutes on either side, rest for another 5 minutes rather than 20-25 minutes as the recipe indicates.  Also, I added goat cheese to the salad on Sunday and that seemed to have worked better.  Please try it that way next time.

Thanks again everyone and until next time... Happy Cooking! ^_^

Let the holiday season begin!

Hope all of you are well and enjoying the coat-free weather.  For me, this is a blessing since it makes dog walking so much easier without all the bulky winter attire. :)

December is officially here, which means holiday preparations have also begun.  I won't have a tree to decorate this year since we will not be here for Christmas but I'm anxious to get at least few of my favorites out of their boxes to display.  And how are your holiday plans coming along?

This weekend will mark the end of the fall semester of Makifood cooking series.  I am very grateful for the chance to meet and cook with all of you and especially for your patience regarding my poor Hungarian skills.  I will have to work on that much more in 2009...

Which brings up the topic of spring semester of Makifood classes!  It now seems 90% confirmed that we will have a guest teacher come in from Canada/Italy to teach during Easter week.  She is planning a full Italian Easter feast so be on the lookout for that guys!

Another news for 2009 - we will have afternoon classes available for those who like to sleep in just a bit more on Saturdays. ;)  Also in the works is Supper Club and Tour de Piac.  More on that at a later date...

I finished testing/writing this weekend's class recipe and it will be sooo yummy!  It's easy to make, and I mean EASY.  Can't beat that when you have million other things to do, right?

See you all this weekend then and happy cooking!  ^_^
